When you have back pain whether it is from scoliosis or double scoliosis (like me) or from any other ailment, you want relief beyond the chiropractor visits. Since it is so easy to find almost anything online and a lot of people who support different exercise regimens for back pain, will make it seem like everyone can use the exercise *fill in the blank* (equipment).
This is not the case!! All exercise equipment is not for everyone, especially those with back problems. I asked my chiropractor whether I should get a Plexus wheel since I saw it online and he told me he would not recommend it for me, due to my double scoliosis. He said that might work for others, but not for the problem that you have. He said he’s looking into options for me to help me keep my back aligned the way that it should be, but that wasn’t one of the options.
I know those advertisements and recommendations may look all nice and shiny on the outside, but if it’s not for you it could make you feel worse instead of feeling better. When in doubt, ask the doc!! If you have back problems, especially if they’re severe, ask your chiropractor before buying any exercise equipment for your back. He’ll most likely tell you the track that you need to be on and the best option for you!! I know a lot of us want to avoid doctors at all costs, but there are some cases where we do need to see a specific doctor given our ailments.
I know I have severe back pain due to my scoliosis but still managed to avoid chiropractors due to time constraints and financial issues, but then came the wake-up call and I had to spend the money (that I didn’t have) and give up some of my time. Given, the situation I didn’t t just look for any chiropractor, I had my search criteria, which you can read about here.
Did you ever try new exercise equipment just to find out that it wasn’t specifically a good fit for you? Were you considering specific exercise equipment but weren’t too sure if it was right for your condition? What did you do?
